How much does a small business website cost?
A practical answer for owners in the GTA: what makes a website cost more or less, what is always paid separately, and where our two defined packages sit.

The short answer
- The price depends mainly on four things: how many pages you need, what happens to an inquiry, whether you sell online, and how ready your content is.
- At ALM Digital, a focused one-page site starts at CAD $350 (Launch Website). A website of up to five pages with an organized inquiry process is CAD $1,550 for the base scope (Business System). Stores and anything larger are quoted in writing.
- Domain, hosting, paid tools, ad spend and payment fees are paid separately from the build fee, whoever builds your site.
01Pages and content
A single focused page with your services, proof and contact options is the smallest useful website. Each extra page needs its own structure, text and images, and it has to stay consistent with the rest.
How ready your content is matters as much as the page count. If your texts and photos are ready, the build is faster. If they need to be written, translated or photographed, that is extra work and it should appear in the quote.
02What happens to an inquiry
A form that e-mails you is simple. An organized inquiry process takes more setup and testing: every request is recorded with its answers, you get an instant alert, and nothing is forgotten.
This is often where a website starts to pay for itself, because a slow or lost reply costs more than the website.
03Selling online
A store adds a catalogue, product pages, a cart and checkout through a payment provider, order alerts, delivery and return pages, and testing of every payment path. That is why stores are quoted once the catalogue, payments and delivery are clear.
04Languages and connections
Every extra language means the text, page titles and search settings are prepared and checked again. Bookings, calendars, CRMs and automation tools add setup and testing time. A good quote lists both separately.
Where our two packages sit
Launch Website, from CAD $350: one page with up to five sections, call and WhatsApp buttons, a simple inquiry form, one revision round and help going live. Business System, CAD $1,550 for the base scope: a website of up to five pages, every inquiry recorded in one database with an instant alert, starter SEO with Search Console and GA4, one official WhatsApp Business integration and two revision rounds. Everything else, including stores, extra languages, design, photo, video and marketing, is quoted in writing.
Always separate from the build fee
- Domain registration and renewal
- Hosting and any platform subscription
- Paid tools and apps, such as booking or e-mail tools
- Payment provider fees for stores
- Ad spend, paid directly to Meta or Google
- Photography, video and copywriting, unless they are in the quote
- Applicable taxes, confirmed in writing
Questions to ask any provider
- 1What exactly is included, and what is not?
- 2How many revision rounds are included?
- 3Who owns the domain, the hosting and the accounts?
- 4When do I receive the final files and access?
- 5What happens to an inquiry after someone fills in the form?
- 6What will I pay every month after launch, and to whom?
